Joan of Arc

Our favorite heroine is remembered as a fearless warrior, but she never actually killed an opponent. She did have a volatile temper, however. Once placed in control of the French Army, this teenager chewed out the knights for various reasons such as swearing, skipping Mass or just behaving poorly. Joan drove away the mistresses and prostitutes from her soldiers and kept them in line.

She defended herself and made no apologies for her cropped hair and men’s clothing. Little did she know she would become a fashion icon, starting a revolution for women to explore androgynous style and their new “bob haircuts”.
